Cricket is back! Jesters victorious!

Northwood 165 all out (O'Brien 3-32) Jesters CC 167-2 (Harris 52*) Jesters won by 8 wickets Bowler and batsman were once again reunited at a distance of 22 yards at Northwood as we dusted off the cobwebs and cruised to an eight wicket win. Northwood won the toss and donned the pads first. Despite a handy second wicket stand of 73, the innings fell away to 165 all out in the 47th over. Wickets were shared between Shaun O'Brien (3-32), John Murphy (2-27), DJ Chak (2-26) and Adnan Mohammed (2-27). You will have hopefully heard about yesterday's announcement from the ECB regarding the return of recreational cricket, which means club cricket is allowed to resume in England from 11th July 2020. This is clearly a positive development, but the short notice given presents some challenges to the cricketing community. Furthermore, finalised detailed guidance about the practicalities of a return to recreational cricket is not yet available. The Jesters Cricket Club is keen to make the most of the remainder of the cricketing summer.
