Jugged Hare dinner cancelled, online AGM on Fri 13th Nov

We are sad to announce that the 2020 annual dinner at The Jugged Hare has been cancelled. We had booked the venue again, but current Government regulations do not permit us to hold a gathering of more than six, and a favourable change in the rules prior to November is very unlikely.

The Committee discussed the idea of postponing the dinner until early in 2021, but again it was felt that the situation was unlikely to improve substantially on that time scale. We therefore aim to hold our next dinner after the 2021 season.

However, the 2020 AGM will still take place online at 7:30pm on the originally scheduled date of Friday 13th November 2020. All Members are welcome. Members for whom we have a valid e-mail address have been sent a link to the meeting. If you have not received a link and wish to attend the meeting please contact the Hon. Secretary, John Murphy, as soon as possible.

It will be necessary formally to elect the Committee (probably with a new Hon. Treasurer), to approve the accounts, and to receive a short report on the 2020 season. We also plan to announce the awards at the AGM, so if you think you are a potential award winner please tune in!

Of course none of us know exactly what will happen over the winter, but we are making plans for a full fixture list in 2021. We hope that socially distanced cricket is now sufficiently well established that a much earlier start to the season will be possible than this year, but we will follow Government and ECB advice nearer the time.
