An extraordinary onslaught from Highgate's overseas player Ben Donkers ended our match against The Bedouin as a contest. His century off 35 balls included eleven sixes, several of which cleared the 60 foot netting on one side of Chiswick CC. This came after opener Aashir Zaib had smacked 130 (five sixes). The declaration at 303-4 came after 32 overs. A chastening experience.

We were never likely to chase down 304, especially with Aashir bowling tightly (8-4-8-1) and Dan Hayes as awkward as ever to score quickly against. Our 190-4 off 44 overs included a typically silky 52 from Sarbajeet Nag and a measured 60* from Achal Varma. As always, DJ Chak made it look easy with a quick fire 40* towards the end. This match can be filed under forgettable.
