Chingford 192-8 (Mohammed 4-17)
Jesters CC 193-3 (Nag 67, Sachin Rawson 39*)
Jesters won by 7 wickets

It was a sunny April day as the Jesters took on Chingford Cricket Club, greeted by a lightning fast outfield and ideal early season conditions.
After losing the toss, the Jesters were asked to field, a decision that would soon come back to haunt the opposition skipper, given the performance that followed.
DJ Chak, fresh from confidently whispering to the captain that he "always takes wickets when bowling up the hill at Chingford", wasted no time in backing up his claim. With a delivery that nipped back sharply off the inside edge, he trapped the opener leg before to set the tone. From the other end, Imran bowled with excellent control and discipline, picking up a crucial wicket of his own and keeping the pressure firmly on the hosts.
The middle portion of the innings became a tale of two Adnans. Adnan "Amo" responded particularly well to some early bravado from Chingford’s best batter, who dismissed Amo’s opening deliveries as "just left-arm darts". Amo simply smiled then claimed a devastating double wicket maiden. Bowling with guile, variation, and calm authority, Amo finished with superb figures of 4–17 from his 8 overs. His spell culminated in the opposition’s key batter being clean bowled, serenaded off the field by Jesters players miming dart throws in tribute.
The other Adnan, "Iddy", making his debut, delivered a brilliant spell of aggressive off-spin. He picked up 2–36 and was well supported by some outstanding close catching from Shorbo at short cover. The collective effort in the field ensured Chingford were restricted to 192–8 from their 40 overs.
The Jesters’ reply began confidently with Amo dispatching the very first ball of the innings with a fine swivel pull shot. After his bat proved slightly too powerful, finding the thirdman boundary fielder while attempting to guide a short wide one down to the fence. The innings was steadied by Shorbo Nag and debutant Shehzad, who compiled a compact and assured 33.
When Shehzad fell, Sachin Rawson strode to the crease and continued his fine form by crafting a composed and authoritative unbeaten 39. Alongside him, Abu Bakar produced a breezy and entertaining 23*, full of powerful cuts and dashing drives, to see the Jesters home comfortably.
However, the innings of the match undoubtedly belonged to Shorbo. In a masterclass of grace, timing, and composure, he calmly dismantled a sustained short ball assault, sending several pulls racing to the fence or sailing clean over it, all while wearing a cap in a nonchalant nod to Sir Vivian Richards. Eventually dismissed for an outstanding 67, his innings laid the foundations for a thoroughly deserved and emphatic sevenwicket victory. A huge thank you to Chingford Cricket Club for an excellent game and generous hospitality, and congratulations to the marvellous Jesters XI on a superb all round team performance to open the season.
