The Smiths see off Middleton Stoney

Middleton Stoney 188-8 dec (C Smith 4-26) Jesters 189-5 (A Smith 53, E Smith 48) Won by 5 wkts We recorded a solid victory against Middleton Stoney thanks to a real team effort at Middleton Park. Match manager Chris Smith takes up the story of the day… The Jesters won the toss and chose to bowl first in overcast conditions on a very green looking surface. Openers Jonny Bridcut and Simon Rawson started very well, testing the Middleton Stoney batsmen with a number of balls beating the bat and a couple of very close appeals for leg before - the first ten overs costing just 25 runs. Northwood & Chobham cancelled

Unfortunately our game against Northwood on 29 July fell victim to one of the few days of rain in the last couple of months and Chobham have been unable to raise a side for Sunday 12 August.

Josh Montgomerie dominates at Eastcote

Eastcote 224-5 Jesters 225-5 (Montgomerie 85*, Chak 41*, Mohammed 41) Won by 5 wkts We had what looks a convincing victory at Eastcote, winning by 5 wickets in the 29th over of a 40 over game. The holiday season took its toll on regular Jesters and our side included four members of Bedouin CC, Josh Montgomerie from Hornsey CC and Jesters debutant James Travers. The final piece of this jigsaw only fell into place on the Friday before the game.
